I have had the privilege of experiencing several Sandals and Beaches Resorts over the years, and if you ask me what keeps me going back, it isn't just the water or the palm trees.
It's the people.
The smiles. The conversations. The genuine warmth. The team members who somehow make you feel like you are coming home, even when you are thousands of miles away.
So when Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica, I watched the destruction unfold with a heavy heart.
Homes were damaged. Businesses were destroyed. Families faced unimaginable challenges. And the resorts that employ thousands of local Jamaicans were severely impacted as well.
During a crisis, you learn a lot about how a company responds. And what Sandals did to support its team members is something that really stayed with me.

Standing by their people
While several properties were forced to close and begin the massive task of recovery and rebuilding, Sandals Resorts kept all of their team members on payroll and continued their benefits during the closure period.
The company also provided millions of dollars in assistance for team members facing personal recovery needs, including support for those who lost homes or experienced significant damage.
Think about what that means.
These weren't just employees waiting for a workplace to reopen.
These were individuals facing damage to their own homes and lives. People taking care of their families and trying to put their lives back together after a devastating hurricane.
And Sandals stood behind them.
That really touched me.
Because the people who greet us, serve us, remember our names and look after us are such a huge part of what makes a Sandals or Beaches vacation special.
They aren't just part of the resort.
They are the resort.

A $200 million reimagining
Now, the story is shifting from recovery to a new chapter.
Five Sandals and Beaches properties reopened in Jamaica in December 2025, while Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals South Coast remained closed for further assessment and restoration.
And then Sandals announced something pretty exciting.
A $200 million investment to reimagine those three Jamaican resorts.
Sandals Royal Caribbean has also been renamed Sandals Caribbean Cay.
These aren't simply repairs.
Sandals is introducing new accommodations, redesigned pools, new dining concepts, refreshed landscaping and new guest experiences across the three resorts.
And they are opening soon.
Sandals South Coast is scheduled to welcome guests back on November 18, 2026.
Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Caribbean Cay are scheduled to follow on December 18, 2026.
Seeing this level of investment and care brought back to Jamaica is meaningful to me.
I have been to these resorts.
I have experienced hospitality at these resorts.
I have met some of the people who make them special.
So watching Jamaica rebuild — and seeing what is happening next — feels very different than simply reading about a resort renovation.
There is so much to share
I recently had the opportunity to dive into the details of what Sandals and Beaches have been working on, and there is so much to talk about.
New room designs.
New dining concepts.
Beautiful resort enhancements.
New experiences.
And exciting things happening not only in Jamaica, but throughout the Caribbean.
As someone who loves this island and these resorts, I can't wait to share what I'm learning with you.
But I want to make sure I'm covering what you care about most.

What are you most curious about?
I have a lot to share, so tell me — what do you want to see first?
Are you eager to see the newly reimagined rooms and suites?
Want a sneak peek at the new restaurants and dining concepts?
Curious about what has changed at the resorts since Hurricane Melissa?
Trying to figure out which Sandals or Beaches Resort might be the right fit for your next trip?
Or do you want to hear more about what is happening at their other properties across the Caribbean?
Jamaica has been through so much.
But the resilience of the island and the people who live there is the real story.
And I can't wait to take you along as this next chapter unfolds.
I would love to help you find your own reason to fall in love with Jamaica.
